Default New engine fitted,, will it run on old ecu

Just fitted engine,, it's uk version into what was my v4 sti,,

Would the car start up on my old sti ecu?

I don't intend to run the car on this as Iv taken the old ecu off donar car along with all turbo etc so it's all kept same

Just wanted make sure the car fired up before I swap the crank and cam wires over as there in different pin outs on uk ecu compared to my sti loom,,

Bit of an awkward one this if you intend on running the uk ecu you would be as well swapping inlet manifolds over as in put type r manifold on uk engine and see will it start. If it wont swap it back and swap cam and crank sensor and i'm pretty sure fuel pump relay supply. Let us know how you get on. If It's a uk engine would be better on on uk ecu.

The inlet manifolds are the same,, just one had vacum on the throttle body the sti one has a extra one near coil pack,, yes I know been told swap cam and crank sensor signal wires over and one for fuel pump

Yes manifolds are the same but iirc the loom attached to the manifold is different hence change them as it would be easier than swapping the loom as the same is required.

Yeah Iv put my origanal loom that runs under the manifold so it had all stayed the same,, and was just going to remove the pins out the plug for ecu and swap them over there

That should be about right then but you will probably have to swap them back if you use the UK ecu. I'm starting to get confused

Should be no real reason why it shouldn't at all as long as it's only driving off boost or ticking over. Otherwise we go into the usual debate of mapping.
