Default Best big power heads for 2.1 CDB?

Howdy y'all
I'm going to be having my engine rebuilt over christmas (just to run more power) with 14mm headstuds and figured I could change heads whilst I'm there. Currently running stock V5 heads but I've got a set of AVCS heads in the spare room which have the usual crack by the spark plug.
I was wondering if it'd be worth having them fitted (I hoping they'd improve lag as I'm running a GT35) or just stick with stock heads or even something else. I wasn't planning on running aftermarket cams or anything but maybe I will one day when funds allow.
I've scanned through a lot of build threads and see people running V4 heads. Why is this?
Many thanks
Paul

V3/4 STI heads are meant to have the more aggressive cams but I'm sure you see more power and better spool from the AVCS heads.

Hi there

Personally if budget allow I would go with Big port AVCS heads,if you are thinking to run GT35r I would put add aftermarket valves/springs at least, cams depends what power you want to run plus worth considering aftermarket exhaust pulleys
