Loss of power - throttle problem
On Wednesday night I was giving my 06 WRX full beans onto a motorway when my engine light came on and it lost power
To cut a log storey short, the RAC deleted the throttle errors that came up on the ecu and he said that the throttle may have gotten stuck when it was floored. The ecu went into ‘get me home’ mode and limited the power to the engine.
Is this a common fault for Hawkeyes and is there anything I can do to prevent it doing it again?
Thanks

Hi here
I would try speak with yours nearest Subaru specialist which can help you with full diagosis
Yours Hawkeye should have DBW,which can be pain in **** to fix it,but can be just something simple,do you have OBD reader if yes can you post error code ?

Thanks guys.
The RAC mechanic deleted the codes/error messages, so now the car runs fine with now warning light on. My fear is, next time I floor it, the same thing happens and it goes into limp mode.
I don't have an ODB reader, but if I did have, as he's deleted the messages, I assume the fault codes are no longer there to be veiwed. So even if I took it to my local Subaru specialist, they'd still not see anything. Is this right?
Cheers,
Gio

Hi Gio
Codes are still stored on the ECU as historic and they should be or can be viewed after erasing
OBD readers doesn't cost too much or you can buy Bluetooth EML and use Torque app on yours phone

Got the OBD2 reader and it works fine. I did an ecu fault code scan and it came up with no codes. I guess I'll have to wait until it happens again to take a reading (hopefully it won't happen again). It's a cracking app though.
Thanks for your advice.
