The WRX has a set of butterfly valves in the inlet manifold (well, strictly the bits that sit between the heads and the manifold.

A TGV delete is essentially removing these and modifying the casting to remove a load of metal. Supposed to give a bit more power, but requires mapping. Done as part of a series of mods, it might be worth it, but I wouldnt' bother if you're still fairly standard.

helps gain torque,i fitted a set of these and ported headers and gained 30lb/ft of torque.
may not sound alot but it made a really nice improvment and the car spooled much better

What do I need to achieve this then, is it a case of getting a red crinkle sti manifold or is it more involved?

You can either get a spec c inlet manifold as the tv deletes are standard or a bug sti manifold will do

you will also need a remap, as the removal of the tgv sensors/stepper motors causes a CEL.

The actual manifolds are the same bar the colour
It's just the tumblers you will need
But probably easier just to buy a whole Sti inlet setup from a breakers like scoobyspares
And as above it will need mapping so do it with a few other mods to get your money's worth

The aping aspect I'm aware of, I'm running in a built engine and nearing a final map, so I'm buying up the last few parts so I can map everything together
