How long is a piece of string? You can look at getting just the pistons and heads done but 3 months down the line you will probably ask "what if.....". I've just had mine done (by one of the main names) with the intention of reliability but more power. For mahle pistons, steel con rods, polish and balance crank, dual valve springs and retainers, inlet and exhaust valve set, arp head studs, acl race bearings, Sti gasket, rebore, cosworth sump baffle, uprated oil pump, I was looking at a bit over 5k all in fitted.

My comment was tongue in cheek, I have a 2.5 hawk, but if you cant have a laugh at the 2.5 comments on here, you would be worrying about every little noise.

Depends what sort of engine you want built, Do you want a engine built that can withstand trackdays/hard abuse and lots of power then its going to cost loads, and your looking at forged pistons, rods, crank, 14mm head studs and your block converted to CDB etc etc!!

But if you want a reliable engine that can take a little bit extra power, then maybe look at Forged pistons, new headgasket and new head studs as these seem to be the weak point in the 2.5!!

What ever you decide good luck!!!

its been pulled back a tad compared to that due to top mount struggling to keep inlet temps down, running about 386 at the min, once front mount sorted it will be cranked up to about 450 ish
