V5 Wrong?

Default V5 Wrong?

Purchased a Subaru Impreza Wrx classic M Plate(mot says 1995 for the manufactuerer date) first registartion 2001) today this would be my 4 classic impreza but my first import,.

On trying t insure it though a lot of the sites say can not find vehicle when i put the number in for a qute is this normal?

Also the v 5 doesnt say Wrx or turbo etc it just reads Subaru Impreza can anyone help me work out why this is

Hi there it is normal I have a 1992 k reg import logbook says 2001 witch is the date it was registered in uk after being imported the mot will say the actual year of the car when they log into there system so it brings all the info up required-to mot the car I had the same problem with finding quote didn't find my car so I just rang up some insurance company's and did it that way my v5 also just says impreza even tho it's a wrx hope this help

I think they were described wrongly by the person who applied for the V5 when they were imported. It was an easy way to get cheap insurance!

I imported a motorbike from japan myself, I could have registered it as anything I wanted as there was no inspections etc.

That would obviously be the end result of course! That's probably why we (the genuine people) all have to pay so much for insurance. I've seen so many import turbo cars coming in through Dublin port and are registered as something totally different.

Yep I've got a 95 impreza wagon STI import and on the logbook it just says 2.0L turbo but had no issues with insurance

Think yours would be ok, at least it's down as a turbo! My mate had a ST200 Mondeo which was a Si24 valve on the V5, the insurance was cheaper because of this. The best part is the car was ex police and had been registered from new by them lol!!!

List the Applied Model Code and we can tell you exactly what it is.

The model code is printed on the plate above the suspension strut under the bonnet on the passenger side.
