Default Top mounted oil cooler in the bonnet scoop!!

Evening all,
thought this maybe of some interest.

About 2 and a bit weeks ago before going out to the nurburgring I put an oil cooler on my car as she gets mainly very hard track use.

Me and a mate decided to fabricate some brackets and use the bonnet scoop to optimise air flow to the oil cooler as I have a front mount intercooler.

Did 11 laps of the ring and then trax the other weekend and no probelms what so ever.

Here's a few pics.

This looks like a great solution. Last time out on track I was getting high oil temp alarms after about 20 - 25m flat out (110 - 115 deg). Just couldn't get it to cool down between sessions. I was wondering how to improve the oil cooling. I still have a TMIC but I'd be interested in this set-up when i manage to go forged and FMIC.

what oil temps are you actually seeing?

Geds, thats perfect oil temp, dont make it any cooler!!

115-120 is optimum oil temp

oil wont start to break down till about 128 degrees +
