Default newage engine over classic?

As will be going for a build in the future, i want to know whats the best route to take, i will be buying a separate block (CDB) and just wanted to know what the advantages are for going for a newage block over classic if any? will initallity go for around 450-500bhp and possibly go for more in the future...

Also, i know the gearbox will also need to be changed, what sort of power/torque will a 6spd handle? Also, maybe a silly question lol but i was out in my mates 909 escort cossie on sunday, and the dog box was whining like a bitch, sounded awesome lol is there a box like this for the scooby that will whine too (one thats not whineing cause its fooked though!)

You wont find a newage CDB, They were only in the early classics/RA`s, The newage has a Semi CDB so that may answer your dilema

You could fit a dogbox or mount the 6 speed with solid mounts to the chassis and this has a similar sound, Power wise the 6 speed will handle 600 of each no problem but i doubt a dog box would.

Hence me saying you have answered you own question!

As for the box you could get a PPG 5 speed with straight cut 1-4 I've seen some running fine for a couple of years in 500/500 cars

I'm running hawk eye dccd box with plated rear diff. I have more solid mounts and braces than you can shake a stick at but it doesn't make the noise of a dog box, thanks god !

ahh ok, didnt realise the newages didnt come with CDB, so which would be better for a big bhp build, the newage SCDB or classic CDB?

As for gearboxes, what do the guys run that are over 600bhp? just out of curiosity, doubt ill go that far, but who knows what the future holds, so would like to future proof it as much as possible...

Have you heard lee's? it's a lot more audible on a stripped out track car.

Mainly 6 speeds but there are a few posh ones that run a sequential box.

No need for a CDB for 4 - 500, im running 532 on an ODB.

6 speed g box, seen plenty of ppg boxes break 6 speed seems the best option.
