Default What thermostat??

Hi guys I'm looking for a thermostat for my 1998 classic turbo 2000, the engine has been modified. Just wondering what I need as been looking on ebay and can see some 'cool running' thermostats think it said it opens at 68c. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Imp...item359dd6d217

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Su...item414fcabe37

Will one like this do the job or do I need to look for something else?

Cheers Gethin

Does anyone know what thermostat I need? Not sure what power car is as previous owner has carried out work, very rough guess at 260-300 ish hp.

Cheers

Thanks that solves that then!! Will one of these cool running ones cause it to run under temp if the engine doesn't actually need one? Hard to tell if I need one as not sure on power. Temp gauge sits about right as she is now but then not sure what is in there already????

be very wary of aftermarket ones as i have noticed many are of a very poor design and not the same as the OE fitment..................very small centre

we only use genuine ones these days because of this

Thanks mate that's what I was after . I'll start browsing ebay! I was thinking that they might keep the car too cold on the road.

My 2.5 ran 10 degrees cooler with the zerosports thermostat fitted Beneficial on road and track. Same in my classics, can't go wrong with a genuine Zerosports IMHO
