I'm having an argument with my mate he's say my car is a non turbo engine with a turbo I'm saying its a proper turbo engine

It's a 1996 import ej20 gc8

it wouldn't be cost effective to put a turbo on a non turbo engine ,why would anyone do that in the first place, whats the vin numbers on the id plate this will say

what colour injectors are fitted, what car is it a wrx

It has wrx on the back with a little sti will check vin in the morning as for colour injectors I dunno

You'll be able to see the if you look down aide of the inlet manifold , is the turbo a td05. Big wrx sticker in middle of boot? Bonnet vents and side vents?

And what gearbox it says on the vin plate too

you will be able to tell dead easy the non turbo engine is a twin cam and the turbo engine i a quad cam

2 major factors here, saloon or wagon?
If the car is a MY96 (slanty intercooler) then its going to be running 260ps for a saloon or 220ps for a wagon.
If its actually an MY97 with the coil pack in the middle of the inlet manifold and the rectangular intercooler then it will be running 280ps for a saloon or 220ps for the wagon.

You really need the model code up though, that will tell you exactly what you have.

It's a WRX so it would have been around 280hp when new in Japan.

Yeah so basically it was never a non turbo. That will bring your insurance down.
