hi every 1 I own a 1998 sti wagon is this a v4 or a v5 thanks

hi mate thanks a lot I thaut so but seen lots of 1998 cars advertised a v5 so was unsure thanks thow

hi iv tried to upload pics but havin a bit of trouble the front bumper has the 1 side bit on the bumper that blends in to the fog light covers but im missing the fog light covers if any 1 has any for sale pref in silver

hi evey 1 its a late 98 were the v5s started to be produced so its a v5

MY1998 - Sep 97 to Aug 98

MY1999 - Sep 98 to Aug 99


Therefore a car manufactured within Sep-Dec '98 would be a MY1999, so you need to post photo of VIN plate up to be sure; or a pic of the engine (assuming it's all original, of course).

Or check the date of manufacture on the logbook...

As said, vin plate is your best bet but there are some other tell tale signs, these are for a version 5.
Colour, for example steel grey was only available on v5/6 cars.
Engine, phase 2 has an off set coil pack on the inlet manifold.
Steering wheel has a nice shiny Mono boss in it.
Front bumper has 2 slats next to the fog lights.
