anyone remember this - DIY charge temp sensor and display?
Hi all. Long time no see.
Years ago someone posted on here that they'd made a DIY charge temp display using one of those Halfords 'In/Out' thermometer type thingymabobs. Basically the exterior sensor part (on the end of a long wire) was fed inside the turbo hose just after the intercooler.
I remember the poster had removed the excess plastic on the sensor part, being paranoid that if it became detached it could travel down and bend a valve. The info I need is how the poster knew how much plastic to remove without breaking the actual sensor.
So yeah, all a bit random, and I'm guessing the post could have been 8 years ago or so... But I've just been given a similar type display and thought I might do the same.
Thanks
Owbow.
