I'd say no, or not a STi PPP pipe (perhaps a wrx one?)

Bottom in this pic is a PPP

Left hand in this pic is PPP

Yes it's an early one, later ones had an open neck with a splitter as above and after this same open neck but with a better heat shield like in post 2 rather than the material thing that disintegrates and falls off.

The WRX PPP didn't come with a decat downpipe - this retained the original and just de-catted the centre section.

Thanks, that would make sense as it's from a bug eye STI.

Other than the heat shield, is there any difference in performance between the earlier one (as I posted) and the newer ones (like in post nr 2)?

I'm planning to fit it to a standard 2005 STI and follow it up with a remap aiming for 320 bhp.

Oh rite...... But when I've looked at 100cell cats I'm told that they need to be hot to pass an mot??? Is it that there just cheap ones I'm looked at?
I thought that the second cat on an sti was a 400 cell cat that past the mot?

If you do a search on here you will find most state they are 100 cell, such as this thread, think this info came from Mike Wood from Prodrive who used to post on here. Here's one thread stating it:
https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-general-1/497863-help-which-decat-to-go-with-ppp.html

There are plenty more. PPP sports cat is very good and is normally only a couple of BHP down on a decat dp.

My car has always passed the MOT no problem with just the PPP sports cat. It's always best to make sure they are hot first anyway.

AFAIK the ones with the split are PPP from a bugeye.
The 2004-2005 ones were bellmouth.

Yes that's correct, this is from a 02' plate Bug Eye.

Is there any difference in performance / bhp potential from this and the 2004 versions?

Few different PPP downpipes as has been mentioned. The newest type is the best and is the one redward posted the pic of. The fact it is bellmouth means it should flow better. To fit it to a WRX TD04 turbo you need to grind the separator flush with the flange. I also knife edged the input side to let the gas flow better. You could probably get away with removing it altogether.
