Default throttle gets stuck on help

Hi guys jus pulled out the petrol station gave it a bit of pedal in 2nd gear (only to 4k rpm ish) went to put it in 3rd but the throttle was stuck fully on car was bouncing off the limiter, luckily I didn't get it out of second so clutch in hard on the breaks let the clutch up after bout 10 seconds and fair amount of clutch smoke it stalled it, it wouldn't turn off by the key, Sat there for a clue mins fiddled with the throttle bodie with my fingers and started it up idled fine gave it a rev and bang stuck on again so stalled it again and fiddled with the throttle cable link again started it and drove about 15 mile to home barley touching the accelerator pedal I was afraid to give it any accelerator pedal incase it happens again, any ideas of what to check myself before taking it to a proper mechanic I've got every spare part I'd need as breaking a identical car, sorry for the long one guys

C ould be that the throttle body is gunked up inside by the flap or the cable itself is frayed inside the outer casing.Id check those first

Check the rubber grommet that sits on the throttle cable if not pushed on will slip down the cable and hold throttle open

most cables are held ontothe acc pedal by a crimped on ball thru a bracket , very similar to the throttle end. Ive never done one but shouldnt be too hard. Hardest part may be routing te new cable but you could try tying the new cable to the old and pull

had a low voltage wire going ovet the top of the throttle linkage, rerouted that and it seems fine now, would this mess with the throttle position sensor?? and it wasn't the floor mat!!
