Default Metallic rattle on the overrun?

Forged classic, it's running fine, but when you lift off, a metallic rattle can be heard, which sometimes seems to come from underneath, sometimes from under the bonnet. It immediately disappears when you touch the throttle again.

I've looked at the rear brakes and the turbo heat shield, but am now stuck for ideas.
Anyone?

First thing I'd go for is a heat shield or something else loose?

Hi! mate, I've suffered a couple of these, first one was the cat heat shield, my new zorst sorted that one. The second was harder to find and in the end it turned out to be the heat shield on my up pipe. It had come away at one end the higher turbo flange. Removed and welded it and all has been quiet since. Hope you find it.

What if you have that noise, with no heat shielding at all on the car? What could that be?

I had a rattling noise. Could only be heard off throttle. It was a loose cambelt guide. Check my threads, there is a video.

Alcazar. Had something similar on my last car. Turned out to be a jubilee clip on the front mount rubbing on the cam cover. Worth checking at least

That doesn't sound good.

Did it do it all the time, or just on the overrun?

Just listened to yours, mine's nowt like that. Yours is more tapping, mine's metallic. I THINK it's the cover over the back box vibrating/rattling, very tinny.

I shall try stuffing it with rockwool when I get it back again, Mrs has it tomorrow.

I have a metallic rattle on the overrun, as well as if I drive in high gear at low speed (to instigate a vibration). My exhaust manifold heatshield is in bits, so I think its this.

Not on mine: it doesn't have one, it runs a tubular manifold which is heat-wrapped.
