Boosting issue
Hi all, I'm new to this site. Looking for a little bit of help. I have a 97 uk impreza turbo wagon. I am having trouble with boosting and was hoping someone could help.
When driving normal the car seems fine apart from a slight hesitation as the boost begins to build. It will hold boost in 1st and 2nd and 3rd if driven normally but if I go full throttle when I change into 3rd it pops, bangs and judders quite badly and is just undrivable, I immediately have to release the throttle. I have cleaned out the boost solenoid but this did not help. Fault code 44 and 32 but I have no CEL.
I haven't owned the car long and the only mods I can see are a HKS mushroom induction kit, HKS blow off valve and loads of blue silicone hoses.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

These lights should be on when you put the car in before the final twist to start it (you may have an airbag warning light and possibly ABS as well)
I would remove the HKS crap and replace with OEM parts.
As for the boost control solenoid/MAF faults rest the ecu to see if they reappear,if they do you will most probably need to replace them.
Decat may give you overboost problems rather than the symptoms your car has.
Try and find a Subaru specialist near you as they can help you a lot more.

I've checked my boost piping and it doesnt look right! All I have is a pipe coming from the turbo to the side of the 2 port boost solenoid and the bottom of the solenoid has a pipe directly to the wastegat actuator. I've looked on scoobypeadia and it looks as tho I should have a T piece and also the restrictor pill is missing!

Thanks, I've had it all done correctly now but it is hitting overboost fuel cut, I have read all about this on here and it would seem I've used the wrong sized restictor pill!! I've used a 1mm but believe it to be 1.2mm.
Should I drill the hole out or should I replace with a manual boost controller? I don't wanna blow it up.

Classic impreza hesitation
Hi I wonder if anyone can help . I have a 1993 wrx which is hesitating when you come on to boost just above 0.5 bar. It's like it is missing or getting fuel starvation . The car has been converted to run on Newage coil packs it's had a replacement MAF sensor . I'm completely lost with it now and just seem to be getting wrong advice and spending a fortune on parts that are making no difference . It will be getting sold before long if it don't get sorted .
Cheers and thanks in advance
