Sure you're not on about the Purge Control Solenoid, Jack?

Your car should have had one.

I do have somthing to the mounted where my boost solenoid is that looks like this http://www.google.com/search?q=subaru+purge+control+solenoid+valve&client=ms-rim&hl=en&gl=us&tbm=isch&oq=subaru+purge+control+solenoid+valve&gs_l=mobile-heirloom-serp.3..0i24l2.43690.45293.0.45764.7.7.0.0.0.1.247.712.1j1j2.4.0...0.0...1c.1.EdjgeGV5nDM#

But the one i found looks like this and is located behind powersteering pump http://www.google.com/search?q=subaru+purge+control+solenoid+valve&client=ms-rim&hl=en&gl=us&tbm=isch&oq=subaru+purge+control+solenoid+valve&gs_l=mobile-heirloom-serp.3..0i24l2.43690.45293.0.45764.7.7.0.0.0.1.247.712.1j1j2.4.0...0.0...1c.1.EdjgeGV5nDM#

If your charcoal canister has been removed then you may not have a purge solenoid. Sometimes the system is binned to make space for mods.

My charcoal canister in the dining room. I just looped the pipe over, and the rest of the gubbins is still there.
