Boost problem? breaks squeeking? Rad fan not working
Hi all recently purchased a silver impreza turbo N reg (95-96) in silver
when i put toe down from 2k the boost kicks in then stops then kicks in like a slippy clutch but without the revs spiking with the dip
Yet if i slowly build-3k-4k then give it some squirt its like ***t off a shovel any advice that may remedy my problem?
Breaks squeeling when moving at speed or slow,i press the breaks it stops, lift back off it starts again.
Rad fan not kicking in when warm, when traveling engine reads cold even though its warm,i stop in traffic it rides back to half way.
Came to a set of lights yesterday after letting car warm for 5 mins i dropped the clutch and it cut out like id turned the ignition off, turns straight back over straight away no fuss, any ideas anyone? any help is much appreciated
Forgot to list mods (hardly mods),Blitz BOV,K&N kit,Samco hosing

Brakes sound like a sticky caliper slider or piston. Pads may have also been fitted dry
sound like an it may have a cooling problem thats been covered up by removing the stat. Temp should really stay at half way all the time

I will be purchasing and installing that sensor asap, you think bleeding air out of system might help before I do? I'm thinking that about the breaks also.no mods on the car apart from bov and cone filter (I hear cones are bad bought it this way).got the ps hosing all went well untill we tried putting the bolt back onto pump.....thread ****ed up am I right to try n get it rethreaded or just buy another pump?

On a new age (not sure if it's the same on a classic), there is a threaded adaptor that screws into the power steering pump. I.e. the section that you've busted is not actually the pump itself, but rather the adaptor that screws into it. It's only about 2cm long, and it has a straight thread with an o-ring seal at one end, and a banjo fitting on the other.
Not sure if they can be bought from Subaru etc, but I just removed one from my other car and used that one and made sure I didn't mess the thread up on the second one.
The problem is of course that the power steering lines are so rigid that they end up pulling the bolt so it goes in kinked and ruins the threads. You could probably replace the hard lines with flexible teflon (note) hoses, but it's probably more cost effective to get that little part from either Subaru or a breaker.
