I use Motoquip blue (cheap as chips)but with distiller water (no scaling) and the MoCool additive.

Since switching to this I'm running Around 10-20 degrees cooler than the Halfrauds advanced.

I think the capacity of your 2004 model is something like 7.7 litres to full so half of that (about 3.85 litres) in coolant.

Coolant is not antifreeze e.g. The MoCool additive increases the cooling properties of water however it gives no anti freeze protection. Hence why I have coolant (MoCool & Water) plus antifreeze in mine.

an additive may not be "anti-freeze" however if you buy proper COOLANT it also has anti-freeze properties.........we use/supply the Motul moto-cool which is good to around -40deg

you can also use traditional Blue Glycol type a/freeze mixed to the correct ratio (generally 30-40% dependant on brand)

Most decent motor factors stock an anti-freeze which is suitable for both alloy engines, and has anti-corrosion properties. That's the one you want.

You couldn't get a harder water area than ours, and I don't know of even one garage that uses distilled water.

so the moto-cool is both a coolant and antifreeze? what dilution rate?

NONE its a factory mixed coolant rather than simply an anti-freeze that requires diluting........

The Comma Xstream G30 is both an anti-freeze & coolant so all you will need is the 5 litre bottle, which is on offer at Camskill for £16.33 and a few litres of distilled water - job done

http://www.camskill.co.uk/m1b0s4399p..._5_Litre_-_5L_

or here on ebay and delivered free for £16.89

Which Comma Xstream is the one to go for then? X30, X40 or X48?

Heard of people recommending green (X48) but also X30 which is red. Which one is best?
