MY99 engine advice
Well its been three years since i sold my ppp'd classic but now i have another which is totally standard i could do with a bit of advice on my new one.
The car has 89,000 miles with full history but has a very low idle, sooty exhaust and never really feels that it has the standard 215bhp, i know a standard uk turbo isnt going to set the world on fire but i've owned a few quick cars and this one defiantly feels like its missing a few ponies.
It comes on boost at around 2700rpm with alot of waste gate/spool noise, (don't remember my old one being this loud) and basically feels pretty flat.
It has a cone filter fitted which if i remember is a no no as it kills the maf, so would i be right in thinking i have a maf related problem and return the car back to a standard air box and filter and buy a new maf?
Where would be the best place to buy maf's these days?
Thanks matt

£110 for maf, not cheap eh?!
My good pal says he can read the codes on my car also?
Also in process of sourcing an original air box and panel filter, I think I got spoilt with my old classic as it was so well sorted when I bought it, anti lift, drop links, ppp etc, really highlights how much I need to do to a standard car to get it feeling right!
Still it's half the fun knowing an understanding your own car though eh

Not sure on reading codes , some info here http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.p...eadingECUCodes
Cars are getting on now so need a few bits replacing, as you say all good fun though and classic parts are easy to get through breakers
