Default Crank sprocket info.. Help please

Just put v3 engine into my v4.. Can't get to fire at all.. I haven't changed the sprockets as iv read a few people saying about this,,

Are the ones on my old engine matched to my ecu?? Hence v3 engine won't fire at all?

Do I have to change the camshaft ones aswell??

I thought v3-v4 engines was the same??

Please help

Hi mate, might sound daft but have you got the rubber fuel lines on right to the inlet. If you get them the wrong way around the engine won't start. Worth checking simple fix if it's them.

Yes checked fuel lines,, have one off filter to top fuel line off the inlet,, return next one down and smaller pipe at bottom,

Also have earths running off both sides of the inlet to the battery,2 earth points on engine which come off the loom,, one runs to the starter and bolted on too starter bolt,, and another on the block where block and meets transmission,,

I checked the cam shaft sensor as uses the sw plug as injector but no way the injector plug will reach the cam sensor just incase was fitted the wrong way,,,, but that's rulled that out,

I do have one spare plug,,which is off the same loom as my maf sensor.,, but has been cables tied up,, and was not used OB the running of my old engine,,

Pretty sure my old Scooby had a sensor after the maf before the intake pipe but I don't have one so why it's not used

Previous owner had it running in there car so don't see why changing it into mine it shouldn't work,, the cambelt has not been touched so timing can't be out

Classic timing pick-up pulleys are the same - as mentioned above the newage are different.
Classic matching pulleys:

Newage matching pulleys:

If the engine was running ok in the doner car, then you will have to recheck all electrical connections, fuel lines and any fault codes stored in the ECU.

You can check the resistance of the cam and crank sensors to see if they are any good, both should be 950~1250 ohms at room temp.

Well as far as I know it was running and took members word as the car was up for sale before it got stripped..

I have no fault codes come up.. Plugged up the black connections and just same flash which means no faults stored so guess not crank or cam shaft sensor? As would throw up fault code

If I remove all cam covers would everything line back up if I crank it by hand?

Back to basics - what are you lacking, fuel or spark?

Sorry, I should've specified - fuel in the bores (wet plugs)? Does the car have an immobiliser fitted?
