Default Classic Blocks and Heads

Can anyone tell me anything (what model, MY date etc) this block is from?
Its come out of a early 1996 sti RA, im pretty sure its not the same motor it came out of the factory

I read somewhere that only CDB came with squirters???

Next daft question is ...... How do I idenitfy sti camshafts from wrx models?

I plan to use these block and heads on my next build

Ive been buiding Scooby engines for 10 years and have ony come across open deck with squirters 1 or 2 times, I think they were in V2 STI's, but not 100% sure.

Hmmm.. It is a v2. Was it only v3/4 sti that had shims? Was there any sti with hydraulic lifters.

Cheers

WRX and STi V1~2 has hydraulic lifters (STi had lightweight hydraulic lifters).
STi Version 2 RA has under bucket top hat shims.
WRX and Type R Version 3~4 has small outer shims.
STi Version 3~4 has under bucket shims.
UK 1997~1998 has large outer shims.

As far as the ODB with bore squirters, have seen 6 or 7 blocks from the STi V2 and Type R's but no way of telling if they were original factory fitment or have been changed in the past.
