urgent oil issue

Default urgent oil issue

went to check my levels yesterday as my03 wrx (completely standard) is runnin kinda rough, turns out ive pretty much none. need to get some today but what do i get get ? ie 5w30/ or 5w40 etc etc ??? any advice would be greatly appreciated. as i say need to get it today. thanks .

Just put some Castrol Edge 5W 30 in mine and runs sweet as. I did try to get some 5W 60 but couldn't find

cheers andy. would a couple liters of 5w30 triple r decent enough to put in just now till i get a proper service in a couple weeks ?

As you say you've 'pretty much none' just about anything will be decent enough!
Let's hope the 'runnin kinda rough' isn't down to the lack of oil

best find out the source of the leak if there is one as the oil wont be in there for very long again if theres a bad leak. how long has it been "running rough?" how often do you check your oil levels etc? i check mine once sometimes twice a week. hope theres no permanent damage bud.

i noticed it kind of stuttery last week but was also low on fuel so thought it was that and have only done about 30 miles since last monday as i hardly drive the car. goin to go out and get some just now. hopefully resolves the issue. its also gettin a cv replacement on monday too as it seems thats gone also.

If I were you mate I wouldn't drive it anywhere until you get the oil back to at least half way otherwise your car will more than likely go pop very quickly bud lend a car or ask someone to take you for oil, also not good letting the fuel go low either mate as it clogs up fuel filters etc pal.
