Fuel Filler Rusting :-(
Hi
Came back to the car having filled up with fuel and notice it dripping out the filler pipe.
So, a replacement is required. Anyone got any ideas as to the best place to source one quickly?
Car is stuck at work, didn't want to drive it!!

Dont suppose anyone knows if by driving the car i'm going to blow up?
Its been sat overnight, and it seems fuel hasnt escaped, so hole is just in filler pipe, not in the tank...

No it won't blow up lol, it should be fine, the exhaust is the other side of the car for a start and if leaking from the filler neck it should just smear when driving but obviously don't leave it like it forever and once below a certain level it should stop leaking if its from the top of the tank where filler neck joins so as soon as it falls below that you should start to see it stop. Is it leaking loads or is it just the odd drop now and again? When my buddy had his he took it back to Subaru many times with the complaint of smelling fuel after he filled the tank, their reply was there was some kind of overflow or valve of some kind that vents out when at a certain level, we both thought they were talking shít because they didn't want to fix it or just couldn't find what was wrong with it, I have heard loads of people over the last few years with newage cars that I have known to have some kind of fuel smell, I have a smell on mine also but no leak and when I try to inspect it I can't find anything, next step is the same as your doing and replacing the fuel neck and hose where it goes in to the tank, I also have a spare tank if that don't cure it bloody annoying things like these are

It was dripping when I discovered it. I cleaned up the pipe as best I could, was covered in road crap. And it then stopped dripping. I left the car still overnight, and this morning it appears I've lost no significant quantity of fuel, and its not dripping at all.
I filled up with 20 quids worth about 3 hours before noticing, so my guess is, its a tiny hole, which I've now plugged up with mud and crap.
Just waiting on super-ted to confirm... should have a new pipe soon

Just in case anyone is interested, all fixed. replacement item from super_ted picked up, fitted today and all sorted. Got the local garage to fit it, been at work so no time myself.
Cost me £80 all together. labour and part. Much better than Subarus £200 quid.
Gotta love scoobynet (sometimes)
Cheers for all help and advice!
