Using bonnet scoop for air intake?
I know normally the bonnet scoop is used for cooling on the WRXs and STIs, but I have a turbo bonnet fitted to my sport. So technically the scoop is doing nothing, perhaps cooling the engines maybe?
But my question is, has anyone modified there air intake to use the bonnet scoop? Seems like it would be pretty beneficial, and cannot be that hard to do.
Anyone?

Better air flow at the front of the car? How so? The bonnet scoop was designed for sucking in air, surely using the scoop would be the way? Plus it is a much more direct route into the air intake housing.

Nearly every car manufacturer has the air intake at the front or side of the car, you would generate alot of heat soak, if you was sitting in traffic, as the heat rises up from the engine

As i understand , the scoop is only really useful up to about 50 mph. After that ,due to the cars aerodynamics, air flow goes straight over the top of the scoop. As others have said , better off using frontal area to gather air from. Thats why FMICs are fitted , apert from other reasons

i bet you would get clogged up pretty quick. A quick blast round the dales on the summer evening would see the vileda full of moths, wasps n other floaty fly bound things. Drop a turbo lump in her and forget to change the log book. Do change the brakes though.
