Default Running No Dump Valve

Guys,
Looking to run around 330bhp -350-bhp when mapped on my WRX.

It is possible to run with out a DV, reason I am asking is I have one on the std IC at the moment and hate the whoosh noise! I have decent Sti IC on its way to me soon but doesn't have the standard DV, so will it be OK to go with the chatter and run without it and blank it off?

Depends on what turbo you have, more so if you are still running a MAF

All depends on what turbo your planning to use

Running a maf will mean you need a recirc dv won't it?

I run 500+ with a boost controller in line with the dv so it chatters on low boost (less than 2 bar) and high boost it dumps but I am on a map sensor

Did it break?? Who mapped it?? What was the spec??

Only reason I ask is because the highest I have heard somebody running was 1.8bar! And even then there was a bit of a worry that the standard headbolts wouldn't be happy.

That turbo would be fine to run without a DV in my opinion, nothing to do with the sleeve bearing, all about quality of components.

The reverberations onto the MAF would be the issue

they are not recommended to run with no dump valve, yes it does have to do with the bearings, the SC36/38/40 use sleave bearings and would be less robust then the bigger SC42/SC46 with the garrett BB core which is stronger.
