Default Help 2002 wrx sti prodrive

Hi new to the site can you help? I've just taken my scooby to the garage to have a new cv joint fitted and the guy couldn't find a stock cv(not sure why) so he fitted a universal one, but 2 of my friends that know more about cars than me seem to think that subaru's have way to much power for a universal and will pop it?

I would guess its a universal gaitor thats been used and not the complete joint? If thats the case? Providing it fited correcly and not leaking grease it will be just fine. Theres no load at all on the gaitor. Its impossible to have a universal joint. Every car has a different splines, different length and different number of teeth for the abs ring
