Default Woobly gear stick,

Going to pick up car on saturday and it has a bit of play side to side just feels a tad loose not a tight gearstick as i thought a wrx would have its a bug eye. Ive read on the net it can be the bushs or some sort under the stick and replacing these or changing to a quick shift will cure it.
Am i right in what ive read.
Cheers

If it's a classic, there's a centring spring on top of the gearbox. If this spring is missing, the gearstick will be able to move left and right very freely when the car's in neutral.

If your gearstick is floppy when going left, but sprung when going right you should check the spring as previously mentioned.
