Default Not getting much noise from dump valve ???

Hi I have a 2003 wrx prodrive upgrade
It has a forge dump vale fitted but doesn't seem to give out much noise easily ?
I need to floor the car and hit about 4-4500 rpm before I get any noise and then it's not loads I've seen a lot of subarus around my area that seems they just need to excellarate normally then when changing up gets that dumping noise I've fitted boost gauge ang I'm boosting 15-17 psi do anyone know if this is normal or is there a problem somewhere ?? Thank in advance for any tips

Sounds like u need to buy a spring kit from either import car parts or direct from forge uk, u need to remove the dv open it and see what colour spring is inside, the spring kit consistes of 4 coloured springs ( hard to soft ) u may just need a slightly weaker spring to the one currently fitted

You may (wisely) have a Forge recirculating dump valve fitted. I say "wisely" because the Impreza engine runs better with a recirc valve than the VTA ones.

The loud ones are VTA....they can, and do, spoil the running, waste fuel and can lead to damage to the engine and cats.

You could always lean out of the window on gearchanges and shout, "PSSSSSHHHHH! Look at ME everyone!" LOL

Or perhaps not?
