Default Power Steering Problems

For some reason when on full lock when cold i get a noise like slipping belts which goes away once the engine is warm. And tonight the car was in a cold open car park and the stearing was heavy and unresponsive until it had wamed up. Could it posibly be that my power steering belt is too loose or on the way out?

If so how do i tighten the belt and which one is it?

Thank you for your help, I did use the search engine but didn't see the post you pointed me to. I've popped the car up to my local garage as I also seem to have a small oil leak. So they are going to give the car a once over as it's still under warranty.

Hi Karen,

Check fluid level in the power steering reservoir, it will have a small dipstick integral to the cap and a mark on it I guess..Or the fluid is leaking out and meaning less assistance, top it up and see if it improves and check level periodically.
