Hey people, weirded problem with my bug wrx, when started from cold the steering feels heavy (juddering) and squeals, but only when car is stationary. Once I drive or the car is warm every thing is perfect? Any help thanks

Low on fluid, belt slipping, leaking drawing air, could be a number of things but id check them. There is also a rubber washer on top of the pump where it takes a feed from the bottle that can fail and draw air from.

Yes, there's an adjuster, it's the alternator belt too. Adjuster is a screw sitting at about 45 deg from the vertical, inside the belt run. You loosen the alt to adjust, don't forget to re-tighten it.

My last car used to judder a little at low speeds especially when parking. I changed fluid and belt with no joy then changed pas pump at great expense!
Turned out to be just a semi seized UJ knuckle. There are two down back of the engine. They dry out. Might as well lubricate them as costs pennies. WD40 first (I connected a few of the long straws together as not a lot of room) then some lithium grease when improved.
If you change the fluid, it's a sod to get the air out and steering feels awful until you do! Think mechanics use a bleed gizmo tool! Meant to be self bleeding by turning lock to lock with wheels off ground though.
