I have fitted a sytec in line fuel filter fitted as these are a sealed unit how often do they need replacing ?

As they are considerably dearer than standered fuel filter

they are cleanable.. they usually come standard with a paper filter element inside..

worth checking as when used in pressure side as you are they can get damaged and sometimes restrict flow.. they do an optional metal element but it doesnt filter as finely.

I thought the one I have was a sealed unit !

How does it split then ?

Simon is it best to filter low pressure side then ?

no just keep an eye on it and perhaps replace with metal optional element..

you need to filter both low and high really whcih you are as the intake has the filter sock on it still I assume.

I believe if you look at the filter its the blue that unscrews from the red.

As Simon says just unscrew the end using if I remember correctly a pair of 5/8 spanners and replace or upgrade the filter element if needed.

The metal element is from memory 40 microns which is to big for the post pump filter.

Can you speak in lay mans terms arch please

You mean the metal filter would be of no use in my set up so stick with the paper element

Depends what pump/s you are using but in general the pre pump filter should be less fine than the post pump filter. In your set up you will probably still be using the intank sock so as you appear to have done you need a fine post pump filter to protect your injectors. The sytec paper element is 8 microns which should be ok post pump. I have used a better Fuelab filter which is 10 microns which is not as fine as the 8 micron sytec paper filter.

Thanks mate , yes the walbro in take has the filer bag which lifts to my swirl pot then Bosch 044 pump via sytec filter to injector rails seems to working fine had no problems !
So you would recommend another filter before the swirl pot ?
