TD04 Replacement.
Okay ive got a standard Uk turbo 2000 and i'm getting a massive pressure build up in the cooling system when on boost. So much so that the coolant will leak through the top hose clamp if driven hard. I initially thought it was a head gasket failure but after looking into it and the fact that the pressure dissapears when off boost im thinking there could be a boost/pressure leak from the turbo. Im going to Blank out the Turbo from the cooling system at work next week so ill know for sure.
Im not looking for massive power and im not interested in getting the car remapped, so if the turbo does need replacing what are my Options? Will a TD04 be the best thing as it will be a straight swap or is there something similar that will push a little more power and better performance without a remap?
Cheers Laurence

Yeah i know that, im not necessarily looking for a bigger turbo or i'd go for a TD05 or something. was just thinking was there a newer version of the TD04 which would give similar results but have a better spool.

Cheers mate I was thinking about a TD04 hybrid and I'm sure they can make up too 320bhp. But I'm sure ill need a Remap after fitting which I'm trying to avoid so I think it'll have to be a straight swap for another TD04.

I'm Tempted with a hybrid but I've just saved up enough money to rebuild the engine as I thought one of the Head gaskets had gone, so knowing my luck I'd spend my money on a hybrid and a remap and then one of my head gaskets would go and I'd be back to square one!
My hearts telling me go all out and squeeze it for more power and my heads telling me otherwise!

I think you're leading yourself a merry dance.
You do have a head gasket issue !
It's practically unheard of for a turbo to pressurize a cooling system.
You'd be spending money on a turbo you don't need, so get the engine out and crack on.
