Pulled timing, knock sensor faulty but no CEL?
Anyone ever found their knock sensor to be faulty but it hasn't thrown up a CEL or fault code?
My car was due to be remapped but was impossible due to the knock sensor pulling the timing. The engine seems to be fine after a run with the det cans, but I'm unsure if the knock sensor is genuinely hearing something or whether its on its way out and sending conflicting signals to the ecu creating false knock?
Has anyone got any experience with a situation like this?
Thanks

is your knock sensor in the correct orientation and torque setting?anything else loose around the engine bay that could cause false knock ie heat shields intercooler pipework etc
