Default ARP head studs, how much power?

Hi all,
I'm currently running mid 400s with Mahle pistons & Manley rods in a CDB using an RCM 400 & 20% Meth. I'm thinking of going for an SC46 with 20% Meth which should see about 500bhp but Im not sure if my 11mm ARP head studs are good enough at this level, do I need to go 14mm & what does this cost?
Thanks, Richard.

Hi Richard

You should be OK with 11mm ARP studs at this level,14mm ARP studs are recommended if you are running higher boost, with SC46 you should be running around 1.7bar

We are run MDX321T at 490bhp with 11mm ARP studs without the problem

Hi Jura,
How much boost do you run? Would 500bhp with Meth on an SC46 be reasonably safe then?
Thanks, Richard.

Hi Richard

We are run 1.7bar on MDX321T.

I would speak with your engine builder if its possible, what he say on this if its safe or not,as I said,we are run 490bhp on the 11mm ARP studs and Open deck block(EJ205)

Not so
Are you running a 2.5 Richard ?
Who did your block work & is it your oem block you had work on
/ if yes to above
1.7 will be your boost limit as its your liners wich are now the weak link
480 is a good target to be within scope / 500 if its used sparingly , but all the time / no /
You can't tell me u will miss the extra 20 if your pinned into a corner
Also if its 2.5 have you uprated your sump & baffle plate ?

Richard as I said before, you will be OK at this level with 11mm ARP headstuds, all depends on the turbo what you will be using,on SC46 and at 500bhp you should be OK

He is not running 2.5L,he running CDB 2.0L,if he will run 2.0L ODB he will be OK at 550bhp with right parts

As Jura states 2.0 CDB, with Mahle pistons & Manley rods. It's the 11mm ARP head studs I was worried about as the SC46 with Meth should take me close to 500. As Jura is using the 11mm studs at this level & I'm sure others are, I'm going to get the SC46.
Thanks, Richard.
