It's very easy! You just swap the OEM one with the Walbro, maybe need to do a bit of soldering for the wires.

Right, so i was having a problem I THINK with my petrol pump i will check tomorrow i've read about it here;
https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...t-nothing.html
https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...pump-kits.html
where it could be my immobiliser etc, so i guess its worth hooking it up to a external battery and see if it turns? if that works then how can i bypass the immobiliser? can i put a wire along the car (inside) straight to the battery, or would that just drain?

Yes that would leave the pump running all the time and thats not a good idea. You could run an igntion fed live to it. Youd be better sorting it properly though. Test the pump first

Is there a tutorial on here on which wires to snip to test it?

Dont be snipping any wires to test. for a novice, the easy way to test us to remove the pump then you only have two wires, a live and earth. connect to a battery and see if the punp works.. the problem with this method is if you have a sticky pump, removing it can move the brushes in the pump and it may work out of the car even though it didnt when it was fitted. do you have access to a multi-metre?

your really going to need to test for voltage so a metre or test light of some sort is going to be needed. you could make a test light pretty easily from a bulb and solder a couple of bits of wire to it. Its a crude old school way if doing it, but will work

Just fit a Walbro, the older pump will be tired by now, and if it doesn`t cure the problem then atleast you've a better pump and an immobiliser to rip out.
