Default turbo not always pulling hard

IHi guys

Got a 2001 bug eye wrx with a vf43 Turbo and supporting mods which made 330bhp recently. The Turbo, from fitting made a lovely spooly noise as it was hitting boost but just before the dyno run it stopped and now seems to do it every now and then. The one thing I have noticed is that when you can hear it spooling, it pulls very hard but when you can't hear it it pulls very flat with no feel of urgency or kick in the back
Can anyone think what may be causing this? I think this is the cause of the dyno figure.being lower then I thought. I did fit a Turbo blanket not much before the dyno run and I will remove that soon to see if that caused the problem.

Has anyone else got any other suggestions.?

The mods to the car are:

Sti pink injectors
Jdm inlet manifold with tgv deletes
Piper cross panel filter
3 port boost solenoid
3" full decat
Harvey smith ported headers and up pipe
Etc

Thanks

You may well find the turbo blanket is fouling the actuator linkage and holding the penny valve open on occasion.

I am hoping it is something as simple as that but I have removed it for now and will have to see what happens.

Any other suggestions?
