Ok so I've not had a subaru for 2 years and I want to change the oil myself this time round......I remember them being black

I came across these on ebay an just wondered if Subaru changed the colour of the filter or are these just cheap imitations?

yes,subaru changed them,i use the pink hks ones which seem good.

 

Use genuine black filter or a Blueprint one.

 

The blue ones are absolutely fine, I use them on both our cars.

 

I use K&N oil filters, about £9 or so from Alyn ASPerformance!

 

I stick to Blueprint as they are manufactured in Japan and have a metal mesh inside as opposed to the paper mesh Subaru use.
