Default uk engine in import shell

Hi guys just wanting to know if i could put my uk 98 engine in a import 98 type r ( before anyone shouts the type r engine is knackered and due to buying a new house i cannot afford to shell out for engine at this time) so here in lies my question. i have uk engine 98 and yellow 440s vf23 turbo, orange maf 3 port boost solenoid basically everything the type r ran but want to use the uk engine as a quick substitute until a find a decent sti block what i can then replace with is this possible does anyone know please help!!!

you ll need to run the uk ecu with the uk engine for a cheap fix

if you tried to plug in the uk ecu it wont fit, im sure 2 wires would need swapping around.

please say if im wrong on this. im sure it all wires in engine side if you had say a v3-v4 engine but if you tried to plug the uk ecu in then that is where your problems will lie. you cant run the jap ecu as your timing would be out also the cams on the sti block rev higher, engine will end up going pop!

Do you have a uk ecu to go along with the engine ? If not, you will need it.

Ps would the import ecu defo not run the uk engine wiht all the running gear left on?

the cams are different in the sti block also your timings would be out abit. wont do the engine any good to be fair with you.

so if i put the uk ecu it will need the barrell, key, transponder etc to run it all then?

Can anyone shed some light on what wires it is I have to swap over please and also will I need to fit the barrel, transponder etc or could I tape key to ecu and still use import key???
