Hyperflow TMIC or STi v8 TMIC?
Hi All,
I'm looking at changing my standard TMIC as I'm not a fan of FMIC given the advantages gained over the standard TM.
The issue I'm facing now is whether to go for a Hyperflow or a STi version 8 TM?
Are there any pro's/ con's of going for the Hyperflow instead of the STi TM?
What power rating are the Hyperflows capable of withstanding over the Sti TM?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

At the moment I'm just looking at reducing engine temperatures, but want a TMIC that will suffice for a possible future power build that can cope with 400-450 if not less.
Have you got a pic you could possibly post so I can see how it looks like installed?

Afraid not.. Went straight from the standard UK T2000 TMIC to the Hyperflow one.
From what I have heard there is not much difference.. Some people say that aftermarket intercoolers will not be as good as the Subaru ones but then when you look at the amount of people running aftermarket FMIC's I can't really see their logic.
Personally not had a problem with it at all and I like the fact that its quite rare. Everyone goes for the Sti8 intercooler.
No modification needed with the HF either. Sti8 needs the reservoir cutting down a bit and the bracket moving I think. Sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

You're right there.
I've read that you have to cut the reservoir tubing by 20mm and also customise the brackets.
HF are rare to come by second hand and they surely are expensive at circa £800 new!

Wouldn't bother with getting it new.. Look for second hand. As long as its in good condition it will be fine.
Sti8 is cheaper but then you have the hassle with fitting it.
I had the same dilemma not long ago.. Managed to get the HF second hand at a reasonable price.
