Default Fitting a FMIC

Iv brought a FMIC an Dcat pipe an wanted to install next week but iv read that I will need a remap afterwards but the only problem is iv also been told buy a few places that I can't remap my ECU as it is a V2 WRX STI TYPE RA
Any information would be great as I'm unsure wot to do now.

It is the de-cat that really requires the re-map as the boost characteristics will change to do better flowing exhaust. I don't think a FMIC will require a re-map.

Is the best thing for me then to buy a new ECU.

A FMIC will also need a remap. If your ecu can't be remapped you need an Apexi PFC ecu.

Thanks for that. Iv just been looking at them an was wondering is it best to buy a new1 or can I get away with a used 1.
