1993 wrx stock internals
Hi Guys,
I have just registered here and i havent got a lot of knowledge on scubby's at all. I have seen a scubby for sale locally, its a 1993 import, pushing around 340 bhp. What is the maximum for the stock internals to be at without compromising reliability?
Thanks!!

so is there a chance the engine is already damaged or would not last long?
I went and tested it, sounds sweet as hell and there is a lot of power too pushing around 14psi on a td06 turbo
Only reason i ask is
http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/index2.html
"Below is a brief summary of our progress and race wins over the past 10 years
Our 440 Bhp 2.0 litre MY 95 WRX RA held the UK ¼ mile record for over two years running stock internals. "

i think the ra has forged internals same as the sti so can handle more power.a standard ej20 engine is good for 300 ish but on an old car its on borrowed time.i know mine is a 93 wrx the original engine lasted 61k before bottom end going despite being looked after and that was about 300bhp.

put up a link to the car and let us have a look.there are people with more expertise on here than me.so all helps and if its been done properly and mapped by a decent mapper then might be worth it.

lovely mate...look at the fact that car has fibreglass bodykit so will at some time crack and need repairing, plus for the money there are nicer ones about.dont let a decent power figure sway you or the fact that it is local.spend time and wait for the right car.
check cars for sale on here.there is a nice 98 terzo for £50 more than that for sale with all the right bits.
best advice is dont rush to buy one of these, espcially at that price for a 93 classic.

Well this is the way i look at it, if someone is daft enough to make an Impreza look like that then their daft enough to not maintain it and abuse it.
No mention of a remap so 1. i doubt its running over 300bhp 2. it won't last much longer.
Its a dog mate, the flamer kit says it all.

Good choice, don't get me wrong the new owner seems to have spent a bit but in my opinion it needs a whole lot more. That is me trying to be reasonable and look past the bad styling.
Keep your options open mate, personally i'd avoid looking on eBay.

forget about how much power it has and look for something that has good, standard bodywork.decent brakes/suspension up-grades and a decent history.for the money you want to spend there are some lovely classics around.
DONT RUSH TO GET ONE!!! lol.

no i dont wear anything of that sort, maybe due to my age i find those sort of cars attractive? i have a 530D as a normal everyday drive car. I need something cheap but with some serious power. and 218bhp just wont cut it for me (my 530d has about 260).
