Default Real crank seal in too far?

Hi, I fitted my new rear crank seal last night before I fit my new clutch and flywheel. The original one sat flush with the engine casing, the one I've fitted has gone past this point and sitting in by about 2-3 mm evenly all the way around.

Will this still seal, or is it going to leak?
