Default dipped headlights won't turn off on bug WRX

Hi all,

After a drive today, I noticed my dipped lights and rear lights won't turn off, even when I take the key out the ignition!

I've taken the fuse out for now, until I get to an electrician. But, just wondering if anyone has had this happen?

Much earlier in the day I had a hand car wash done, could this possibly have anything to do with it?

Yes. Likely to be water in a lighting connector somewhere, or a bad earth somewhere else.

did you clean the inside of the car could be the switch on top of the steering column may have been knocked on, this is usually for turning side lights (parking lights) only but from you avatar pic i see you have morette headlamps these may be wired differently to standard worth a try buddy

don't feel stupid mate it is very common for this to happen lost count of the amount of time local customers have rang with a flat battery for the reason above

Different people use different terms depending upon they've been brought up with - like you i use side, dipped and main but others use dipped main and high

Same thing happened to mine when I got it valeted! I looked out the office window and the sidelights were on. Took me a minute to realise what the problem was as I never use those lights myself.
