Am I missing something here or is really the total waste of space that it appears to be???????????
It only seems to effect the brightness of the clock.... is this right?

If you hook up a gauge pod you can wire the bright switch to independently turn the pod lights on and off at night, quite nice sometimes to keep the distractions to a minimum

It only affects the lighting of the clock when the lights are on.
