Am I missing something here or is really the total waste of space that it appears to be???????????

If you hook up a gauge pod you can wire the bright switch to independently turn the pod lights on and off at night, quite nice sometimes to keep the distractions to a minimum :)

It only affects the lighting of the clock when the lights are on.

I wonder how much Subaru spent developing the switch and electronics for it?
