Default Where is bracket on classic down pipe?

I have 2 down pipes for a classic one has mounting bracking on top, think this fits on gearbox, and the other has bracket on bottom off pipe?

Both should fit mate, the high one is as you say, mount to the side of the gearbox casing and the other should have a bracket that comes off the gearbox support under the car[might be missing,I removed mine]
