Default Oil change on Subaru wrx classic closed deck block what oil should I use

Changing the oil on my Subaru wrx closed deck classic there's so many threads out there but some so oils are good and then the same oil gets slated on another thread. I have been looking at
Mobil 1 super 3000 5w40 fully synthetic is this a good oil and will it suit the car

Threads like this often start wars on the forums

Personally I wouldn't use anything else but Fuchs Silkolene Pro S 10W50 or Motul 300v 10w40 in Subaru. Both oils are esther based. But I'm sure many more good oils available out there.

It's all down to preference and what your car is used for. Specialists all use different stuff, its all down to how hard the car is driven and how often you do oil changes. I really wouldn't worry about the threads, everybody listens to their specific specialist/mechanic. 5w40 fully synthetic is fine. You will hear how a certain oil directly relates to engine failures etc!! As long as you use decent stuff and not cooking oil you will be fine mate lol.

A good starting point is the manual for the car. I always used 10w in my old classic whereas 5w in my bug.

As already said its down to personal preference, take the guidance from the manufacturer, then plug in your budget to the equation then take it from there and hunt for the best deals.

I used to run mainly Millers CFS in my old classic.

Silkolene 10/50 or 15/50 for harder use or track days as recommended & used by RCM. Opie oils have it at the best price.
