Default TURBO 2000 WHOOSHING NOISE ON BOOST?

Afternoon chaps and chapeeses,
I have a little bit of a weird problem that has shown it's face over the last 24 hours

When initially coming onto boost, i can hear a fairly loud whooshing sound , quite loud inside the car?

I have this morning removed the intercooler and checked all pipework associated with the turbo and the complete boost system and cannot find anything un-toward, so am now a little lost.

According to the boost gauge i'm not losing any boost and the car still drives fine, but the noise is getting right on my nerves, anyone have any ideas or has anyone come across this themselves?

The sound does appear to come from the passenger footwell sort of direction, but obviously there's no air hoses down in that location, or is there

Cheers for any help

It's really quite loud inside the car though, driving me nut's.
can't understand why it sounds like it's coming from the passenger footwell, i know sound can travel, but there's nothing down there with air in it?

Right, i'm none the wiser chaps

Have now eliminated the dump valve entirely it's not that, as have tried three different ones this afternoon and am back to a fully working standard one

It's got to be a hose burst/split, but am struggling to find it due to the fact that i cant hold the car on boost while searching under the bonnet

Anybody aware of any prime candidate hoses that would result is a loss of boost pressure (this is also down to 5 psi now from 12) and loss of boost pressure, any obvious hoses or ones that have been found suspect for other owners.

Or failing that could anyone list all the hoses and locations that i need to check, i have checked what i can find, but i'm missing the bugger somewhere, are there some that are really hidden that are a swine to find?

Sussed the bugger chaps,
was the boost gauge, it had come adrift inside the actual gauge

Changed it for a new one, and now no leak

The sound must have been travelling across the dash to the other side
