Default Do I Get Rid?

The time has come to consider getting rid of the scoob had the latest one 18 months and loved every minute but 2 nights ago car just stopped, so stripped it down and the belt has jumped 4 teeth I have since been offered an 06 Mazda6 Diesel estate with 70000 miles on as a straight swap as my car stands. My car is a 1996 import full facelift front end FMIC 550'S TD05 20G, Full leather interior, Gold Brembo's all round Paddle clutch and a few more bits and bobs so the question is is the offer too good to turn down or do I stick a belt on it see if its ok and keep it. Buy a new engine and belt and keep it, or take the swap? What would you guys do?

The issue isn't getting the work done I can pick up an engine for £150 with only 42000 miles on the clock and fit it myself. What I was asking is if I fit the engine and run it for say a year then decide to sell as a car its worth what £1500? Where as I can get a £3000 car for it now.

Only you can make that decision Tim.
Like you say you can get a 3k car for it now, but are you gonna be happier?
can you let the scoob bug drop, or a couple of months from now are you likely to regret it?

If it were me, i would seriously consider both options before making the call, it would be a tough one too, but now i have the subaru bug well and truly engraved in my thick skull, i doubt i would want a mazda, but like i say thats just me
